Welcome to the Cape Fear Sailfish Classic! This is an open tournament for all fisherman, targeting Captains and their crews from roughly Wrightsville Beach to the east side of the Shoals at Ocean Isle Beach. This is an all-release event, designed to promote this fun and exciting fishery that occurs nearshore every year as the waters warm and the Gulf Stream eddies push inward. Captains will fish as far "offshore" as the Tower, and the boundaries are defined as the WR-4(Wrightsville boundary) west to the Jungle/Hammer areas off of Ocean Isle. The event is a 2 day fishing tourney, commencing on August 12th with a pig-picking Captains meeting at the Ocean Isle Fishing Center. Fishing days are Friday/Saturday. Lines in at 8am out at 3pm.
This event is designed to be fun, all release and open to boats of any size.
