History of the Cape Fear Sailfish Classic:

The CFSC was started by dedicated recreational fisherman for recreational fisherman. This event is designed to promote fun and those who want to pursue the challenge of locating these beautiful species and practice the art of proper bait presentation, the use of "teasers" top attract and locate the fish, and the art of "drop back" with circle hooks to promote a effective hook up and safe release of the fish.

2011 was a huge success, first sail was aboard the Daddy Rabbot, captained by Reg Abbott, the day also proved dramatic with 18 Reeler, Vance Forbes team from Wrightsville recording two releases, capturing the Day 1, last sail, largest dolphin, and OVERALL 2011 CHAMPION!!   House Divided captured largest dolphin, Day 2, with a 16.2 pound fish, nice fish!!  Way to go!

The tournament had 15 boats fishing, and over $4000 was raised for Cy's World, a foundation created to support the love and learning of outdoor recreational activities, stay tuned to Cy's World developments through www.cysworld.org.
