Rules All participants must have valid NC Saltwater license, all boats have a valid tuna permit on board.
- Mandatory Circle Hook Rule is in Effect as per National Marine Fisheries
- Non-offset circle hooks only, no trebles, no stingers, no exceptions! J-Hooks may be used on artificial lures only i.e. no ballyhoo
- Each Capt. will be given at camera at the Captains meeting Thursday the 9th. Someone from each registered team must be present at the Captains Meeting.
- This is an all release tournament, no Sailfish boated or brought to the docks, disqualification will result for any Sailfish brought to the dock.
- Must have a picture with the leader(or bill) in mate’s hand. Teams need not return to the dock each day; numbered camera(the same one purchased at time of entry) for those fishing may be dropped off by 5pm at Wrightsville Beach Marina or OIFC. The numbered camera may be delivered to either location by car, however no cameras or images may be substituted. No email images of the fish will be accepted, only a valid picture on that numbered camera.Teams wishing to weigh a dolphin will need to deliver to the scales by 5pm; scales will close at 5pm.
- Committee boats will be posted east of the shoals, and west of the shoals. All Captains must call in the hook up, and the time of release. Ties will be broken by time of release. Committee boats will report all releases to the tournament director by 5pm each day, official totals and daily winners posted on the web.
- Fish within the boundaries. Boundaries are WR-4(Lat/Lon N34.006.290 W77.019.039)and out as far as 23 mile rock,then west to the Jungle (Lat/Lon N33.180.790 W78.280.066) and out as far as the Frying Pan Tower (Lat/Lon N33.026.110 W77.045.350). Boats should not tie up to other boats, nor make any landfall prior to call in of releases and or weigh in, no exceptions. Disqualification is the result.
- All winners announced Sunday the 12th at 11am at Wrightsville Beach marina.Posted to the web shortly thereafter. All decisions of the tournament committee are final.
- The format is 2 fishing days, fishing days are Friday and Saturday. Lines in at 8:00 am, lines out at 3pm each day. In the event that NOAA issues a weather advisory, the format may be shortened to one day, or at the option of the tournament committee, the tournament may finish on Sunday, in which case the lines will be in at 8 and out at 2:00. The tournament committee will communicate any updates to the format via the website and/or emails or text messages. Also check our Facebook page for official updates.
- Captains fish at their own risk, waivers are deemed signed when entry fee is paid.
